2. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE
Interdisciplinary networks:
To scale up the implementation of highly active prevention through boosting network cooperation on national, model regional and cross-border level in CEE and SEE in a three-year period.
3. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK
The holistic network approach aims to scale up HIV combination prevention. Therefore interdisciplinary regional and cross-border networks in 5 model regions will sort out gaps in and between the core strands HIV/AIDS/STI prevention, diagnostic and therapy.
For the purpose of the assessments along the external EU border the project envisages Fact Finding missions in 4 ENP countries. They will take place outside of EU, but will meet the requirements of EU having a direct benefit to the EU citizens and will implement the methodology and instruments developed by the work package leaders.
Work plans will be jointly implemented and the results discussed with relevant stake holders, incl. mass media (round-tables, press events). Exchange of good practice and capacity building (multipliers’ training, recurrent workshops) will be conducted and prevention concepts transferred. Communication training for physicians and medical students will be piloted and curriculum developed for medical universities (Germany, Poland). The solidification of the network commitment is assured through politically signed written statements of intention on the agreed health objectives
